The Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation2 is a collaborative endeavor, uniquely suited to bringing together university scientists as well as external partners, gathering experts in the areas of immunology, neurobiology, metabolism, molecular sensing, and mathematics. In total, the Cluster has more than 80 members and over 450 associated scientists, who are working towards a common goal: understanding the immune sensory system.
Excellence through diversity
A group of 25 researchers has jointly applied for funding as Cluster of Excellence. The applicants cover different fields of expertise, in order to colaboratively pursue the scientific goals of the research programs. While each applicant's main field of expertise is indicated below, the applicants regularly contribute to different research areas, as evidenced by numerous joint publications in different disciplines.
The expertise gathered within the cluster of excellence is constantly extended by recruitment of selected promissing junior scientists.
