The focus of our research activities is studying mechanisms of perinatal brain injury and neuroprotection. We study the interaction of the peripheral (neutrophils) and central immune response (microglia) following hypoxia-ischemia and inflammation-sensitized hypoxia-ischemia. Employing a range of in-vitro and in-vivo models, we assess various neuroprotective strategies. Furthermore, our focus extends to neuroimaging, where we aim to enhance image sequences through ultra-low field MRI technology.
